Clergy Calls for Congress to Enact Immigration Reform

A group of clergy in the Orlando, Florida area renewed its call for immigration reform that would legalize millions of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S.  The group of clergy from numerous denominations said that it is time for President Obama and Congress to address “unfinished business” by adopting significant changes in our country’s immigration laws.  The leaders, led by Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Wenski, included Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal and Islamic clergy.  The group stated that they were acting on their religious beliefs in compassion for the neediest.  They also noted that the group represents thousands of immigrants in their congregations.
